The main login problem that I have noticed is people not activating their user account.
When you create a User Account an email is sent to the address you provided (it is almost instant) you have to click on the link inside the email to activate the account then you should be able to log in.
Often times a new user will not notice the email because it will end up in their spam or junk email box. So be sure and check those mail folders if you have not received your activation email.
